An Andover teenager was led to believe by her mother that she was insured on a vehicle, when there was actually no insurance, a court has heard.

Mia Law, of Denning Mead, was found driving the Mini Cooper on the A30 in Stockbridge without insurance on May 6.

However, Basingstoke Magistrates' Court heard earlier this week that Law, 18, was misled by her mother into thinking she was insured on the vehicle.

She pleaded guilty via the single justice procedure in July, but was given an absolute discharge and no endorsement made on her driving licence because of the deception.

However, Law was ordered to pay costs of £85.

A man from Hurstbourne Priors has been disqualified from driving after he was caught behind the wheel of a car with no insurance.

Mason Thomas Saunders, of New Barn Farm in Harroway, was found driving his Volkswagen Golf on the A339 in Basingstoke on February 27.

He was fined £196, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £32, and disqualified from driving for six months.

An Andover man has been disqualified from driving after he was found to be over both the drink and drug-drive limits.

Mitchell Stephen Donley, of Charlton Road, was stopped whilst driving his Ford on Berry Way on January 12.

He was breathalysed and found to have had 41 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath - where the legal limit is 35.

Additionally, he was found with cocaine and benzoylecgonine in his blood.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to all three charges at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court last week, and was disqualified from driving for 16 months.

Additionally, he was given a £120 fine and a court order to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £45 in costs.

A man has been sent to prison after he admitted breaching a restraining order.

Robert Elliott Wyatt, of no fixed abode, was told not to go to an address in Andover, or contact a woman, on February 28.

However, he pleaded guilty to going to the address on September 2 and texting and phoning the woman on September 8.

The 32-year-old was sent to prison for three months, as well as being ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128 and costs of £60.
