MORE footage of dangerous driving on Hampshire's roads has been released by the police.

These incidents have taken place across the county in the past nine months.

The video has been released as part of Hampshire police's new campaign, Hants SNAP, where anyone with footage of a potentially dangerous incident can submit it to the police.

Hampshire Constabulary's Conor Curtis, of the Summary Justice Unit, said that those who "put themselves and others at risk on our roads will have action taken against them".

The first clip in the video involves a near miss in on the A35 in Burely.

Hampshire Chronicle:

The second clip took place on Ash Road in Aldershot on January 12.

Mr Curtis added: “These are just an example of cases where we have taken action and we continue to receive an increasing number of submissions. Although the police cannot be everywhere, the public can be and I want those committing offences on our roads to bear in mind that the road user next to them could be capturing the evidence and reporting it to us.

“We’d like to thank the members of the public who have already submitted footage to us for their assistance in improving road safety across Hampshire and the IOW”

As previously reported, the scheme have been trialled since August 2019 with a focus on incidents that put pedestrians and cyclists at risk.

This has now been opened up to all road users, and road offences, with the exception of collisions and some other offences which should be reported by calling 101, or online.

To be considered by police, the footage must:

  • Be reported within seven days
  • Not be edited
  • Not have been deleted from your device
  • Not be shared on social media
  • Show between one to two minutes either side of the incident

Footage can be submitted by going to the SNAP site or on the Hampshire Constabulary website.
