THE body of a cyclist discovered in Droxford had injuries to the head and chest, an inquest opening heard.

Police officers have identified the man as 55-year-old Declan Joseph Murray who was reported missing from Southampton.

A post mortem report by Dr Basil Purdue says that the body, discovered on the B2150 on August 10, had injuries to the head and chest.

It states that these were the main cause of death.

No further details were given at Winchester Coroner's Court but the full inquest will be held on May 11 2021.

The post mortem was conducted by the Home Office.

Mr Murray's next of kin are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
