A WORLD War Two veteran has got on his exercise bike and help raised thousands for a charity close to heart.

Bunny Ennis has taken his cycling challenge for The Not Forgotten by storm, by cycling 12.1km in seven days to raise money and awareness for the charity.

He wanted to complete this challenge to help those who are shielding from Covid-19 and also spread some much-needed positivity; which he has done by motivating the team at Ennis & Co supporting him to cover an incredible 456.35km by running, walking, swimming, cycling – and even a triathlon.

For every kilometre the 94-year-old cycled each day during week of August 3 to 9, Ennis & Co team doubled, or in some cases quadrupled, this in their own preferred method of exercise.

Although the team were not able to complete this together in person, they all motivated each other along the way, screen grabbing progress, raising awareness for the charity and most of all, boosting Bunny’s dream to do something amazing and give something back.

Lynda Ennis, founder of Ennis & Co, said: “The last week has been truly amazing. Dad has loved completing the challenge and feels fitter and more active; which is no mean feat in this heat! Everyone supporting has been amazing. We have raised over £3,000 with more donations pending and I couldn’t thank everyone enough for their contribution. It’s a dream come true for Dad.”
