A NEW family has taken over a once-troubled village pub.
The Chestnut Horse in Easton has been at the centre of controversy over the last few months.
Former landlord Andrew Caldwell allegedly owes thousands of pounds to a number of local suppliers, staff members and businesses. He has also been sued three times since last November totalling nearly £30,000.
But he has left, despite telling the Chronicle he planned to stay, and now the Bodle family are coming in.
Callum Bodle owns the business Welcome Home, and hoped to open by Saturday August 8.
He told the Itchen Valley Parish Council Newsletter that himself and Paul will be heading up the front of house team, extending the initial welcome.
Nathan will be working with head chef Sam as a trainee chef helping with designing and producing the menu.
Amelia, whilst still working full time for City and Guilds, will be in the background providing admin support but will be seen in and around the pub at evenings and weekends.
Callum also said that he is looking forward to becoming part of the local community.
