A POPULAR live music venue in Barrow is now getting used to life post-covid and seeing a lot of success in doing so.

The Mail's Pub of the Week is Odd Frog who are a bar and tapas restaurant based on Duke Street who are best known for their brilliant live music acts.

However, during lockdown they have shown they have a plethora of options when it comes to keeping their customers happy having run a cocktail and tapas takeaway service during lockdown and successfully returning following the guideline changes last month.

This has continued and they are available via Barrow Eats.

Jason berry, co-director of Odd Frog Tapas & Live Lounge, said: "We reopened last weekend and it was a success.

"Our capacity has been quartered because of the new guidelines as customers need to be seated.

"We will just have to make the most of it as we did with the takeaway cocktails we were doing during the lockdown.

"We are predominately a live music venue. I am waiting to see it will play out.

"I don't think it will come back any time soon though.

"We are just focusing on giving our customers the best experience with food, cocktails, interesting beers, and I like to think we are not just a music venue.

"We just want our customers to enjoy a good time.

"It was really special seeing people out and to see what it means to them is a privilege.

"We have had a lot of love and support during lockdown and I really appreciate that."

One example of this is the launch of their membership packages which was popular with the community. This was done to help them create revenue when the business wasn't running as well as creating a community for the venue. They now have more than 80 members who pay a small monthly fee.

Benefits include free offers throughout lockdown, wine of birthdays, members only only nights, plus much more.

The community of Barrow really got behind them on this and membership is available on their website at oddfrog.live.

"We are unique in that our tapas is like nowhere else in the area," Mr Berry said.

"To have continental food, high quality cocktails and beer, as well as an environment where people can feel safe is ideal I think.

"We don't have to have live music to be entertaining."

The staff at The Odd Frog take their cleaning regime very seriously as customer and staff safety is their number one priority.

They have an online booking system on their website which can be used for both food and drinks which will in turn take your details for the purposes of track and trace.

Alternatively they can do this at the venue as well for those are not as adept with technology.

They also have a temperature gun which checks customer temperatures and if they do not pass this they will be turned away, although there have been none as of yet.
