A TEENAGE girl was robbed in woodland near the Leisure Park yesterday afternoon, police say.
The 17-year-old, from Sherfield-on-Loddon, was allegedly assaulted and had cash taken from her handbag as she walked to a bus stop at around 4pm on Thursday (August 6).
The girl was in the woodland between the Leisure Park and the Pitch and Putt, off Worting Road.
Police are now asking for anyone with information to get in touch.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 3.55pm yesterday, 6 August, to reports of a robbery on Worting Road in Basingstoke.
"The victim, a 17-year-old girl from Sherfield-On-Loddon had been walking toward the bus-stop when she was assaulted and had cash stolen from her handbag.
"Anyone with information is asked to phone 101 with the reference 44200296937."
