HUNDREDS of people to flocked to Owslebury, near Winchester, to follow the village's first Scarecrow Trail.
The Covid-secure event attracted visitors from across Hampshire who had to find and identify 35 scarecrows, placed on, off and near the main road through the village.
The characters were based on Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Stories and visitors had to name the correct theme and vote for their favourite.
The Hickley family’s depiction of Jack and Jill won first prize, with the Parsons’ Pied Piper in second place and the Archibalds’ Three Little Pigs third.
Twenty five people correctly identified the characters and the winning entry came from Sarah Rowe from Chandler’s Ford.
The Scarecrow Trail was organised to replace the postponed village fete and looks set to become a regular event in the summer calendar.
Siobhan Hand, Chair of the Scarecrow Team, said: “It was lovely to see so many people visit us over the last week and we’d like to thank everyone for their support.”
She added: “As always, our friends and neighbours in Owslebury really supported us and helped make it such a success.”
