The case of a Wiltshire man found to be using a mobile phone whilst driving has been delayed.

Colin Robertson Stewart, of High Street in Collingbourne Ducis, near Tidworth, is accused of using a phone whilst driving his Land Rover on the M3 near Hook on November 26, 2019.

The 54-year-old was found guilty via the single justice procedure in February, and the case will next be mentioned at Aldershot Magistrates' Court on August 21.

A man from London will stand trial accused of the assault of two police officers earlier this summer.

Gavin Byfield, of Edinburgh Close, denies beating PC Gibson and PC Scammell at Foxs Lane, near Highclere on June 12.

The 35-year-old elected summary trial, and has been remanded into custody pending the trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on July 28.

A man from Devon has allegedly been caught driving at more than 100 miles per hour on the A303.

Reavley Brent Westbrook, of Salisbury Avenue in Barton, near Torquay, is charged with speeding at 103 miles per hour in his black Audi near Parkhouse Cross, where the speed limit was 70 mph.

The incident allegedly took place on December 9, 2019.

The 60-year-old's case was due to be heard at Aldershot Magistrates' Court last week, but because of the coronavirus crisis, it has been delayed.

It will next be heard at the same court on August 21.

Three men from Hampshire and Surrey man have been charged with murder.

The trio are accused of killing Gurinderjit Rai, whose body was found in a car parked in Corhampton in July last year.

The Advertiser previously reported how a man from Whitchurch was arrested last year on conspiracy to commit murder.

At Winchester Crown Court, four men appeared. They are: Aston Hannis, 29, of Leah Gardens, Eastleigh; Charlie Statham, 30, of Crescent Close, Oliver’s Battery, Winchester; Paul White, 26, of Dyson Drive, Abbotts Barton, Winchester; and Corin Barlow, 40, of Lumley Road, Horley, Surrey. A provisional trial date has been set for January 4 2021. It is expected to last four weeks. Three other men were also arrested by police early last week, and remain under investigation.
