PRINCE'S Mead School in Winchester hosted a socially distanced Year 6 Leavers Parade as a fitting tribute to the leaving families at our school.
The parents surprised the children with a parade through the grounds.
Prince's Mead would normally have a Speech Day and prize-giving event for the whole school, but this year was, of course, different.
The teachers were able to wave goodbye to the children and their families in a way that we once thought impossible.
The teachers were lined up on one side and the cars on the other, and once the children had been picked up they waited a few moments to wave and beep their horns goodbye.
It was a very moving and safe way to say goodbye to our Year 6. The school has a very close parent and teacher community and this has strengthened the bond even more.
