A MAN has been jailed for breaching a suspended sentence imposed the day before.

Christopher Taylor, 33, of no fixed abode, was caught by police inside the News Shop on Upper High Street in Winchester on Saturday July 4.

Just the day before he received a suspended prison sentence after he was caught with a knife.

In the most recent episode Taylor pleaded guilty to trespass with intent to do criminal damage.

He was jailed for 12 weeks with the magistrates saying he had shown "flagrant disregard" for court orders. Taylor was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation to the shop.

Magistrates heard that he admitted stealing a large ornamental knife from Charles King, possession and also interfering with a Vauxhall Zafira with intent to steal, all on July 1.

At that hearing magistrates jailed him for six months but suspended the sentence for a year. They imposed on Taylor a drug rehabilitation order for nine months.

Taylor also admitted offending while under a community ordered imposed for burglary. He was also ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
