KINGS Worthy Primary School may be down on numbers during lockdown, but it has five extra additions - with a family of ducks now on the register.
The ducks, which were born from eggs hatched in an incubator at the school just over Easter, were initially given a home by the school secretary. But when they got too big for her garden, site manager Chris Carr offered to create a special place for them in the school grounds.
Chris said: “We already had three ponds at school in our woodland area, so I knew we had space. I just needed to make the ducks a safe enclosure and a house to sleep in at night.
"I’ve become rather attached to them already and know they will be a big hit with the children. They’re so tame they will eat from your hand and add another element to the outdoor learning we're so keen to promote here."
