WINCHESTER University has appointed a new Dean of Faculty of Business, Law and Digital Technologies.

Professor Martin Broad PhD will take on the senior role as well as become the director of the university's Business School.

Martin, a chartered management accountant, is currently the head of the Business School at Southampton University.

With nearly 30 years' experience within higher education, he is also the chairman of the Chartered Association of Business Schools' International Committee and a vice-chair of council for the Chartered Association of Business Schools.

He said: "I am really looking forward to leading the Faculty and working with the entire team at Winchester to ensure we provide the life changing experiences for our students and create real impact with our research."

Vice chancellor of Winchester University Professor Joy Carter added: "We are delighted that Martin is joining the team here at Winchester. His wealth of experience and passion for excellent teaching, research and student experience will be a huge benefit to students and staff alike.

"These are extremely challenging times for higher education around the world as we respond to the global pandemic and look ahead to supporting the recovery from the economic and social impact it has had. Martin's global outlook and expertise will help Winchester continue to stand strong and deliver an outstanding, values-led higher education offering.
