EAGLE-eyed shoppers may notice a new addition to the bollard gallery in The Square as city shops reopen.

Colour Factory artists Jenny Muncaster and Rachael Alexander have been out on the street again busily painting a thank you bollard for NHS and key workers.

In line with the other famous bollard images, this one is inspired by ‘Whistlers Mother’ as well as featuring a host of rainbows.

Rachael said: “We wanted to mark this unprecedented time in the best way we knew how, and that is through art whilst also thanking all our key workers.”

Jenny added: “It’s been amazing meeting members of Winchester’s community while painting. We are all realising the positive effects of creativity in these isolating and rather uncertain times and it’s been great to give people something to smile at.”

The Colour Factory Studios next to River Park has been a creative hub of Winchester and Hampshire for more than 25 years.

As local artists they are passionate about promoting artistic talents in the community. Their aim is ‘to carry on through colour and creativity’ keeping their doors open and Winchester inspired. The artists are working hard towards providing small and safe art classes as well as online videos . The artists will also be sharing their professional tips, tricks and ideas via social media for you to create your own artwork. For more information please visit www.thecolourfactory.org.uk
