HAMPSHIRE hospitals reported five new coronavirus deaths in the last 24-hours.

Daily figures cover University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 190 patients at UHS have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

The figure for Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is 229, while Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has seen 156 Covid-related deaths. A total of 17 patients treated by Southern Health have died after contracting the virus.

It means that 592 people have died in Hampshire hospitals after testing positive.

Across the UK 40,597 people have died with coronavirus.

However, the number of new UK cases on Monday - 1,205 - is also the lowest number since the start of lockdown.
