A MAN has died after his car smashed into a tree.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened on the B2177, Winchester Road, on May 30.
Just after 6am the 62-year-old man's car, a Grey Nissan Leaf, left the carriageway and crashed into a tree.
As previously reported, the road was closed between Stroudwood Lane and Mortimers Lane in Upham.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "Despite the best efforts of the ambulance crew, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
"We are investigating the exact circumstances of the collision and are keen to speak to anyone with information.
"Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you saw the vehicle in the run up to the collision?"
