A FURTHER five people have died in across all Hampshire hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.
It comes as England today (Wednesday) edges closer to 24,000 coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals.
Figures released by NHS England today show that amongst the new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, three were at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals.
One of the deaths recorded happened on April 6, this is because all deaths are recorded against the date of death rather than the day the deaths were announced.
No new deaths was recorded at Portsmouth Hospital, two were recorded at University Hospital Southampton and none at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
A further 244 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 23,952.
