A TEST Valley resident showed his support to frontline staff battling coronavirus by dressing as an iconic cartoon cat on Thursday.

Ben Packham, from Whinwhistle Road in East Wellow, joined in a mass round of applause for NHS staff dressed as Sylvester from the American comedy series Looney Tunes.

Now the 23-year-old has revealed he was "happy he could make people's day" when he was out clapping with his neighbours and twin sister Leah Packham.

He added: "My other friends had the idea of dressing up; my friend Charlotte was the anime character Naruto and Matt dressed up as Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog."

The event happen on Thursday, May 7, at 8pm.
