POLICE have warned young people about sending explicit pictures on the internet during the lockdown.
Advice has been issued and is being sent out by schools.
Officers have urged young people not to send such pictures and have urged them to adhere to the following advice.
"Nine out of 10 explicit photos end up on the internet. Just because your friends say they are doing it, doesn't mean they actually are.
"If you have sent a photo and it's gone wrong - talk to an adult you trust. Don't be embarrassed or scared to tell anyone. The Police will always safeguard you first.
"Don't be scared to report it for fear of getting in trouble, your safety is what matters."
Anyone who has any concerns over the issue can report to police via email or by calling 101.
