NO NEW coronavirus deaths have been recorded at the trust that runs Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals.

Daily NHS figures released today (Saturday) show the number of patients in hospitals across the country who died after testing positive for coronavirus in the 24 hours between 5pm on Thursday and 5pm yesterday.

The number of deaths across England has increased by 370, but none were recorded by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).

It is the first time in exactly one week that no new deaths have been recorded by the Trust.

Elsewhere in Hampshire, two people who tested positive for the virus have died at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and three at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The five new deaths across the county mean that 480 people have now died in Hampshire after testing positive for Covid-19.

A further 370 people have died with coronavirus in England, bringing the total number of reported deaths in hospitals to 20,853.

The latest UK-wide figures will be published later today.

They use a different timeframe to those of individual nations and now include deaths occurring outside hospitals with confirmed links to Covid-19.
