AN inmate who attacked three Winchester Prison officers has been jailed for six weeks.
Daniel John Varndell, 30, now at HMP Lewes was convicted after a trial of assaulting Chris Over on June 11 last year.
Varndell also pleaded guilty to attacks on Lucy Blake and Chukwunoso Okechukwu on July 30. He had initially denied both offences but later changed his plea.
Magistrates in Basingstoke imposed the custodial sentence and also ordered he pay £50 compensation to each officer.
