NO NEW coronavirus deaths have been recorded by the Trust that runs Basingstoke hospital.

Latest figures released by the NHS today (Saturday) show that 917 deaths were recorded across the UK in the last 24 hours.

However none were recorded by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals.

The Trust was the only one in the county to record no new deaths since yesterday.

Seven have been reported at Portsmouth Hospital, three at University Hospital Southampton and one at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

It means that 217 people have now died after testing positive for coronavirus in Hampshire.

The Trust that runs Basingstoke hospital accounts for 55 of those, with 102 recorded in Portsmouth, 56 in Southampton and four by the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Across the UK, 9,875 people who tested positive for coronavirus have now died.

Of the 917 who passed in the last 24 hours, 823 of those were in England. They were between 11 and 102 years old.

Of those, 33 had no underlying health conditions. They were aged between 29 and 94 years old.
