A FURTHER 11 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in Hampshire.

Figure release by the NHS yesterday (Saturday) have revealed that another 11 coronavirus patients have died in Hampshire in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of death to 217.

The figures cover the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

At the UHS, 56 people who were diagnosed with the virus have died, a rise of three deaths in 24 hours.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust has recorded a total of four deaths, a rise of one since yesterday.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Queen Alexandra Hospital Cosham, has now recorded a total of 102 deaths.

The Portsmouth Trust death toll rose by seven, from 95 to 102 in 24 hours.

A total of 55 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with no rise in the number of deaths since yesterday.

The Trust handles Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Alton Community Hospital.

Across the UK, 8,937 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, a rise of 823 deaths in 24 hours.

Patients were aged between 11 and 102 years old.

A total 33 of the 823 patients, who were aged between 29 and 94 years old, had no known underlying health condition.
