A MAN was arrested after being chased by a police officer on a borrowed mountain bike.
The officer took up the offer of borrowing the bike from a member of the public after two men fled when their vehicle was stopped in Bransgore on Thursday.
Police had stopped a vehicle because officers believed it contained three suspicious males.
As the officer carried out checks on the occupants, two of them ran from the vehicle, one of whom was wanted by police in relation to burglaries.
The officer gave chase on the borrowed bike and one man was arrested. He is now in police custody helping with inquiries. The second male was not found.
The vehicle was seized for not having insurance.
