BLUE Sky Fostering has called for the public to consider fostering as a career path to help the most vulnerable children coming into the care system.

Although its office in Romsey has temporarily closed the agency is still taking enquiries and remains open, providing support and training to new and existing foster carers.

The need for foster carers, however, is always increasing, as foster carers ‘work’ from home by the nature of the role. As a foster carer, you will have the flexibility of working from home and the job security knowing there will always be a need to care for vulnerable young people.

Ed Thompson, training and participations manager, said: “At this time, we are trying to care for those around us in the best way that we can and we will always continue to support our foster carers in any circumstance. My role as training manager is to make sure foster carers are still able to access some of the tools they might need to be able to do that, just as we would if we were still able to meet face to face.”

Blue Sky Fostering held a Facebook Live drop-in event yesterday.
