HAMPSHIRE has suffered another increase in the number of coronavirus cases.

Data by Public Health England shows that 809 people in the county have tested positive for Covid-19 - up by 110 on the figure released yesterday.

Southampton has also seen a rise. The number of coronavirus cases in the city now stands at 145 - an increase of 40 on yesterday's figure.

As of 9am today a total of 41,903 people across the UK have tested positive for coronavirus.

As of 5pm yesterday 4,313 people have died after being diagnosed with the disease.

The increase in Hampshire was 60, compared to 50 reported on Friday, 47 on Thursday and 85 reported on Wednesday, 69 on Tuesday, 66 on Monday and 48 on Sunday, suggesting the rate of increase in the county is levelling off. Hampshire is still third in the list of worst-affetced area, after London and Birmingham.

The health authorities are not releasing a breakdown of figures for districts within Hampshire.
