A CARE company for those who wish to live independently in their homes has opened a branch in Winchester.

Melody Care's new hub in Stoney Lane, Weeke, was officially unveiled by TV favourite Fred Dinenage.

He said: "Melody Care are a super company and I am so pleased to be with them again at this grand opening. I wish them all the best of luck."

Established in 2010, the business has branches in Alton, Aldershot and Farnborough.

Owner Simon Carter said: "As a growing business in a sector that continues to see increasing demand, we chose Winchester as we want to provide our important service and employment opportunities to the local residents in the city and surrounding area."

The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eleanor Bell, who attended the official opening event, added that she was delighted that "Melody Care chose Winchester for their new branch".

"Whilst there are a number of care homes in the area, they are not many care in the home providers."

Melody Care were double winners at the 2019 Hampshire Care Awards.
