SOUTHAMPTON residents have shown their thanks to frontline staff.
People from across the UK were asked to join a mass round of applause from their doorsteps, windows and balconies at 8pm.
It was to show gratitude to NHS staff caring for those affected by Covid-19.
Supporting the gesture, the Department for Health tweeted: "Join the nation at 8pm tonight to say THANK YOU to all health and social care staff on the frontline, who are working tirelessly across the country in the fight against #coronavirus".
