POLICE in the Winchester district have urged people to think about their actions as strict measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus continues.

Officers from the Winchester District Neighbourhood Policing Team took to social media to spread their message.

In a post on their Facebook page, the team said: “We understand that the Winchester District is a beautiful part of the world and we are very fortunate that the sky is blue and the sun is shining.

“But we really DO NOT want to see people driving to the area to go for long walks, picnics or bbq's or play in the river.

“We DO NOT want to see groups of young people on local skateparks or recreation grounds.

“We DO NOT want to see large group's of cyclists in the area.

“We DO NOT want to see children out in the streets playing with their friends.

“Please help us to help you.”

They urged members of the public to follow the Government guidelines and stay at home.
