A MAN has been disqualified from driving after riding an off-road motorcycle without the correct license or insurance.

Carl Walsh was stopped while riding an orange KTM EXC-R in East Anton Road, Andover, on September 21 last year.

He was found to be driving without the correct policy or insurance in place and with a licence that did not authorise him to drive a motor vehicle of that class.

The 29-year-old Marlborough resident was proved guilty via single justice procedure in December 2019 and sentenced earlier this month.

Magistrates banned him from driving for six months and fined him £860. He was also made to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 in costs, taking his total bill to more than £1,000.

AN ANDOVER driver has been fined more than £1,500 for a trio of driving offences.

Sean Ember, of Moore Close, was stopped in East Street while driving an Alfa Romeo on November 29 last year.

He was doing so without the correct license or insurance, and his front offside wheel was also found to be fitted with a pneumatic tyre which had the ply or cord exposed.

The 31-year-old was proved guilty via single justice procedure and banned from driving for 12 months.

He also faced fines of £200, £660 and £440 for the three offences, and made to pay a £65 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

A WOMAN who was clocked driving at 88mph on the A303 near Barton Stacey has been given three penalty points on her licence.

Kayleigh Burchett, of Flensburg Close, Andover, was found to have committed the offence on October 15 last year while driving a grey Mini along the dual-carriageway.

She pleaded guilty via single justice procedure and was made to pay £330, comprising a £213 fine, a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

TWO drivers have been given three penalty points on each of their licences after they were caught speeding on the A34 last year.

Marta Adamczyk, 29, of Southampton, and James Cole, 43, of Sheffield, were found driving over the speed limit on the A34 Northbound, near Whitchurch, on October 10, 2019.

Ms Adamczyk had been driving a black Volkswagen at 81mph while Mr Cole was travelling in a re Mitsubishi at 79mph.

The pair pleaded guilty via single justice procedure and were each given three points on their respective licences.

Ms Adamczyk was fined £146 and made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

Mr Cole was fined £223 and made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

A DRIVER has been given three penalty points on his license after driving on a motorway at 74mph.

Thomas Ferencas, of Kingston Close, Andover, was driving a Volvo which was towing a trailer on the M3, between Fleet services and Junction 4A, on October 22 when he was found exceeding the 60mph speed limit that applies to vehicles towing trailers.

He also committed a further offence by driving in the right hand lane when three or more traffic lanes were open.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence via single justice procedure in February and was sentenced by magistrates earlier this month.

He was given three penalty points on his licence, fined £330 for the two offences and made to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
