WINCHESTER man Carl Philip Coles has narrowly avoided a prison term for tampering with a car.
Coles, 45, admitted interfering with a parked D-reg VW van with the intention of theft in Walton Place, Stanmore on March 7.
Coles, of Hyde Gate, Hyde, also admitted touching an unattended vehicle in an area of Winchester and Kings Worthy when prohibited by a criminal behaviour order made on January 22.
Magistrates in Basingstoke jailed Coles for eight weeks suspended for 12 months. Coles was also told to pay a £122 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
