The leader of Test Valley Borough Council has spoken out after a suspected Andover man was diagnosed with coronavirus.
The individual visited Andover Leisure Centre yesterday afternoon his collect someone.
The swimming centre has now been closed for a deep clean while the individual is understood to be receiving medical care.
Cllr Phil North in a statement said: "I have been briefed this afternoon that an individual who attended the Andover Leisure Centre yesterday afternoon to collect someone, has subsequently been positively diagnosed with the coronavirus.
"On the advice of Public Health England the centre has been closed this afternoon for a deep clean – and it is expected to be closed for a minimum of 24-hours.
