HOARDINGS around a disused doctors surgery in Winchester cost the city council nearly £40,000.
The boards around Friarsgate Medical Centre, which were erected by the previous Conservative administration, were unveiled in March last year.
They currently advertise the Central Winchester Regeneration plan, also known as Silver Hill.
It has been revealed that the wooden structures, payment for labour and site security cost £17,304 plus VAT.
The aluminium sheets and poster printing, as well as installing these cost £21,022 plus VAT.
Applying for planning permission also cost £462, which brings the total to £38,788, plus VAT.
The details were revealed at full Council last week in a question posed by Liberal Democrat councillor Dominic Hiscock to Cllr Kelsie Learney, cabinet member for housing and asset management.
The Lib Dem administration, with consultants JLL, is currently drawing up new plans for the area between Friarsgate and The Broadway.
