AN ATTACKER who then went on to be caught with drugs has been told to undergo rehabilitation.
Ashley Luke Townsend, of Trussell Crescent, Weeke, Winchester, assaulted a woman on several occasions between November 1 last year and February 8.
The 23-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on February 24 where he pleaded guilty to attacking his victim.
Magistrates were told that on February 9 police spotted him driving a white Fiat in Stockbridge Road, Crawley, when he did not have the correct insurance or a licence.
When stopped he was found to be possession of cannabis and refused to undergo a test to determine whether he was under the influence of drink or drugs when asked to be officers.
Townsend also admitted these offences.
Magistrates imposed a community order for 20 days of Building Better Relationships rehabilitation programme.
Townsend was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £100.
He must also pay £100 to his victim and a restraining order was imposed in which he must not contact her. The order last until March 23 2022.
