A MAN who tried to hide that he was looking at indecent images of children has been jailed.
Police discovered that Steven Hansen, of Chester Road, Winchester, had installed an application which concealed his internet browsing history.
He was prohibited from doing this by a Sexual Offences Prevention Order made by Portsmouth Crown Court in February 2010.
The 72-year-old appeared before Winchester Crown Court to be sentenced on Thursday last week after he pleaded guilty to the offence during an earlier hearing at magistrates’ court.
Recorder Barry McElduff was told that Hansen was also found to have made an indecent image of a child, category C, which the pensioner also admitted to.
Both offences took place between September 8 2018 and April 11 2019.
Recorder McElduff jailed Hansen was 15 months for the breach of the order and one month for making the indecent image, which he will serve concurrently.
