BELGARUM Estate Agents in Winchester concluded their year-long support of Winchester & District Young Carers (WYC) by giving them £2,000.

Staff from the family-owned independent agency said a fond farewell to Ben Hogbin and his team.

They had helped at events such as the Summer Family Evening where they provided goodie bags for the young carers and their siblings, and the Christmas party which saw them take on the Christmas cupcake decorating activity.

Managing director John Leeson said: “It has been our absolute pleasure to work with Winchester & District Young Carers as the Belgarum charity of the year 2019. This group of remarkable youngsters often go unnoticed and uncelebrated in society… the team at WYC make sure they are supported emotionally as well as practically in a safe environment. But most importantly they make sure the children have fun times away from their responsibilities.”

The Winchester Young Carers Project was set up as an independent charity in 1999 and was one of the first of its kind in the country.

Their aim is to improve the lives of children and young people with caring responsibilities.
