DOZENS of people were evacuated from a Hampshire library today after a fire alarm went off.
Firefighters from Winchester were alerted to the alarm at 11.06am at the Winchester Discovery Centre, Jewry Street.
However, upon closer inspection firefighters realised the incident was a "false alarm".
This was caused by "dust in the alarm heads", according to a spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The stop call came in at 11.17am.
The Winchester Discovery Centre has been contacted for comment.
