PLANS to build seven new homes behind houses in Oliver’s Battery have been submitted.
John Waterfield, who works for Vivid Homes Basingstoke, is seeking permission to redevelop the land at the rear of 93-95 Oliver's Battery Road South.
If Winchester City Council approve, two triple floor three-bed houses, three two floor two-bed houses and two ground floor two-bed flats will be erected.
The homes would be built mainly using red facing brickwork and natural slate.
Mr Waterfield is also looking to provide an additional 14 car parking spaces.
The application has so far received two public responses.
Neighbour Dr Barry Trewinnard, of Mount View Road, has remained ‘neutral’ rather than objecting or supporting the application.
His statement says: “Please ensure that the height of the three storey dwellings are not higher than the existing shops.
“Please ensure adequate height of the timber fence along the WEST side together with the planting of reasonable height trees as per plan. Thank you.”
A city council decision is expected by February 18.
