MEMBERS of Winchester Ladies Circle raised a total of £2,941 for Hounds for Heroes, a charity based in Petersfield.

The charity mission is to provide specially-trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of both the UK armed forces and emergency services.

Winchester Ladies Circle, an association centred around friendships and fundraising within local communities, worked with the charity to fundraise and also to raise awareness, through a variety of volunteering and fundraising events.This included baking a selection of doggy treats for sale at community events, and securing a charity market stall at the Winchester Christmas Market. They also organised a charity dog walk, supported by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust in April 2019 along the River Itchen to Shawford.

Immediate past chairman, Vicky Payne,said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work so closely with Hounds for Heroes this year, and I am delighted we were able to raise so much money for them.”
