A LARGE tree has fallen and struck a block of flats in a Southampton road.
A resident at Baxter Road flats, in Thornhill, recalls that the "whole block shook" when the tree fell onto the ground at around 8.20pm last night.
It comes as Storm Brendan hit the city, which has led to several fallen trees and road closures across Hampshire.
One resident said: "The whole block shook and it was extremely loud.
"It put a small hole in the outer wall of the flat above me but luckily there is not a lot of damage.
"It snapped three or four other trees on its way down."
Tree surgeons are working to clear the pathway and remove the tree.
