A WINCHESTER man has been fined for being drunk and disorderly but cleared of assault and criminal damage.
Luke Joyce, 23, of Stockbridge Road, Fulflood, admitted the allegation committed on Eastgate Street on October 4. He had initially denied the charge but changed his plea at Basingstoke Magistrates Court. The bench fined him £40 with a £32 victim surcharge and £28 costs.
An allegation of assaulting Timothy Matthewman and criminal damage to a window belonging to the city council on the same date were denied. The charges were dismissed after the prosecution offered no evidence.
