THE sixth annual Wine Festival Winchester welcomed more people than ever through the doors of the Guildhall, raising more than £2,500 for charity.

“It was our busiest Friday night opening session ever,” said festival co-director Claire Quigley Ward of the sell-out event.

“The festival continues to grow and we’re very grateful not only to everyone who comes along to support and join in the fun but also our exhibitors and sponsors, without whom the event wouldn’t happen.”

More than £2,500 was raised for the Rose Road Association, which provides emergency respite care for profoundly disabled children and young adults across Hampshire. To date, the festival has raised more tjsm £16,500 for good causes.
