TRIBUTES have been paid to a key supporter of Alresford Town Football Club.
Dave Woods, of De Lucy Avenue, has passed away after a short illness.
Mr Woods, who was in his 70s, was the unofficial club historian and recently donated 400 programmes and other documents to Alresford Town Trust.
Along with Trevor Ingram and Don Forcey, who also died this year, Mr Woods helped reestablish the football club in the 1990s.
He was a regular supporter at the club in his mobility scooter.
Robin Atkins, former chairman of the town council, said: "He was very well-liked in the football fraternity. He always thought the best of things in the world and was devoted to the club. Dave attended to virtually his last breath."
There will be a graveside committal at St John’s Churchyard, West Street, Alresford at 3pm on Thursday January 16, followed by a Service Of Thanksgiving at Alresford Methodist Church, 24 Jackylns Lane, at 3.30pm.
