THE annual Christmas party for families supported by Home-Start Winchester was even more exciting this year thanks to a surprise festive donation by the Ineos Group.
Squeals of delight from the children when Father Christmas arrived included rousing cheers from the charity’s volunteers, as the man in red brought a cheque for £2,500.
“INEOS supports a wide range of activities including Ben Ainslie’s UK Challenge for the Americas Cup and the UK National Cycling Team,” said Home-Start Winchester chairman Liz Cooper “and we are thrilled that this global company should make us a one-off donation in this way.”
“We need to raise over 90 per cent of our funding each year to support our volunteers, who last year helped 76 families, by a busy round of fundraising activities and appeals to grant funding bodies and local businesses,” she said.
