A ROMSEY farmer recently enjoyed success at a festive farm show, showing off his large cow.
Simon Peace, from Romsey, took part in Salisbury Christmas Fatstock show held at the Salisbury Livestock Centre.
Nicola Denness from Bramshaw won Supreme Champion of the show with her Limousin cross steer but Simon won the best native breed and Aberdeen Angus in the show with his Aberdeen Angus cross steer which weighed in at 625 kilos.
It was purchased on behalf of Romsey butchers, Brazen Butchers, of Cedar Nursery, Sandy Lane.
Frankie Hale and Lewis Vigor of Brazen Butchers said they were delighted to have acquired the steer which was reared literally within a "stones throw" of their shop at Simon's farm in Sandy Lane.
It will enable them to continue providing high quality locally produced meat for their customers during the Christmas period.
The show took place on Tuesday, November 26.
