A WINCHESTER man who assaulted a police constable has been jailed.
Anthony James Walters, of St John’s Road, attacked PC Joshua Phipps while he was on duty on November 4, this year.
The 56-year-old admitted the charge at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on December 17 having previously pleaded not guilty.
Walters was jailed for six weeks due to the seriousness of the offence and because it was aggravated because of his record of previous offending.
