THOUSANDS flocked to Romsey to view hundreds of lanterns taking to the streets.
More than 200 lanterns walked Romsey Town Centre's street as part of the run up to Christmas.
Schools, community groups and residents made their own lanterns to form the parade, which was a first for the annual event.
John Critchley, a lantern parade committee member, said: "It went very well, the rain stopped and there were well over 200 lanterns.
"I was very pleased and had some nice comments on social media.
"It was a rather successful evening and it was very busy, the parade has become a very major part of the late night evening - every body seemed to enjoy it."
The parade was alongside a late night shopping event and a Santa rescue.
It took place on Friday, December 6.
