SOLDIERS from the 4th Battalion of The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (PWRR) had their skills put to the test at a training centre in Netley.

Known as “The Tigers”, the 25 army reserves based in Southampton and Portsmouth trained at Hampshire Police Southern Support and Training HQ to practice room clearance drills in a modern urban environment.

The training enabled the soldiers from C Company to become skilled in using technology such as Night Vision Helmets and Laser Sight Systems.

Captain Connor Bowdidge said: “Having use of this facility within our local area enables excellent and unique weekly training for our soldiers, very different from their civilian jobs.”

C Company usually train at sites in Millbrook and Cosham and have recently been on exercise in Denmark.
