WINCHESTER Rotary hosted a well-attended business lunch, organised by the club’s past president Anthony Arkwright, at the Wessex Hotel.

Guests of honour were the mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eleanor Bell; and the Dean of Winchester, the Very Rev Catherine Ogle.

Winchester Rotarians welcomed 40 guests - a record attendance - from a variety of backgrounds, local businesses and professions, the church and the city council.

The speaker was Hampshire Lord Lieutenant, Nigel Atkinson, who gave an interesting and entertaining address on his role as the Queen’s representative in the county.

Guests, at the event on November 18, also heard about upcoming club events and departed with copies of the club’s latest annual report.
