HUNDREDS of people gathered in the grounds of Winchester Cathedral to witness a spectacular display of colour and light.
Scores of children showcased their creativity in this year’s lantern parade which saw youngsters take on the theme of The Christmas Story.
The procession started from the cathedral, where live music and congregational carols were led by Churches Together in Winchester.
Shortly after, the lantern-bearers set off in a group, with parents helping their children and other display their creations.
After walking around The Close, the group gathered with spectators to watch the sky light up with a fireworks display.
